Volunteers from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie have distributed more than 16,000 drug-prevention booklets across French cities and rural communities. The volunteer-led prevention campaign in France brings educational materials into local businesses and news eurovision public spaces.
Volunteers supplied 5,100 booklets in Oberkampf, Paris, alongside 3,100 in Tarn and 3,000 through around 50 Arcachon shops.
A baker near Clermont-Ferrand said students sought the booklets for school discussions, while parents and other customers requested information for their children.
The campaign uses La vérité sur la copyright, the French version of the secular Truth About Drugs programme. The Church of Scientology and its members support the programme, inspired by founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about the effects of drugs.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, said: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”
European Scientologists participate in drug-prevention education, human-rights initiatives and local volunteer projects.
